Politics, Changes, and Toy Story!

I recently changed the name of my blog from 'a guide to travel' to 'a guide to journalism'. I think it suits my immediate interests more since I'm majoring in journalism, though I won't have enough money at first to travel. I also changed my picture from the African desert to a view of Amsterdam. I would like to move to Amsterdam one day, but I promise it's not just to smoke pot semi-legally. Oh, what it must be like... I'm glad though, for now, to live in America. I've been quite the self-critic before, especially when George Bush Jr. was president, but now that I've matured and seen what freedom we do have, I can sit back and appreciate it. I once heard a member of British parliament say how great America was. I thought he was being a total smart ass at first, but I could see his point of view by the time he'd finished speaking. He said it's a great burden to be the World Police, and he also said if he lived under our political system, he'd only slightly lean towards the right conservative side. I definitely am left-wing, but hey! I'm just a naive kid.
In other news, today I went to the movie theater to see Toy Story 3 which was totally awesome. It was perhaps the earliest show I've ever gone to, at 3:20pm. Anyway, not to give a full review, but Andy grows up, the toys escape to a daycare, they realize it was a bad idea, they try to get out, they finally do, and then there's a happy ending. I swear I almost cried because I'm such a big baby.

Nice blog. Amsterdam, eh? Politics: I'm a recovering conservative who strives to be independent. I'm examining liberal positions to see what's what.

I didn't see Toy Story 3 yet because I can't get anybody to go see it with me...

BTW, I'm the one from 43Things.

Oh thank you. And it is always good to see both sides of the situation, I guess both conservative and liberal.

And you should grab some neighbors' kids to go see Toy Story with. Or maybe nieces and nephews? Thanks for commenting, I love to hear from people.

Glad to comment, it's nice to know when writing a blog that somebody is actually reading it.

I don't know if I have any kids to take to Toy Story but I'll see it. What did you think of the 3D? (assuming you saw it in 3D).
