Work, Pride and Prejudice, People to People, and Christmas

Today I was supposed to go to work, but I wasn't really obligated.. Plus, my dad said that since I wasn't getting paid, I shouldn't stress so much about it. As a result, I didn't go.

I'm about halfway through Pride and Prejudice. I just got an E-mail saying that I would be having my interview for People to People. I hope I'm accepted to go to Europe. I really think it won't be too hard, though. So um, nothing really happened this week so far. My Christmas tree went up, though.

Yayy for the holidays!

Hooray for book reviews!

Well, I am reading Pride and Prejudice in order to write a newspaper review. I had been planning to read it anyway, and now I can read it sooner than I thought.

I just got back from the book store, and I have to say, there isn't much to do but straighten books and stock shelves. I guess I'm not that good at greeting customers and recommending books to read. I don't talk a lot when I'm helping out, and I always feel out of place.

Considering I've only been working for four hours total and two different times, I guess I have a lot more to learn before I judge.

Thank you guys for reading, and I will reply to every comment. Adios!

No reward for not shopping

Sadly, I didn't go shopping today, so there's no travel experience to write about. Next year, I'm gonna try really hard to achieve a FULL day of shopping on Black Friday.

My SECOND trip to the book store.

Well guys, not much else to write about except that I'm going back to the bookstore this Saturday. Also, I've had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Lots of food and family. Always a nice combination.

In other news, I've been thinking a lot about what I want for Christmas. I saw a blog on this website and now I really want an Ugly Doll. Anybody know where I could find one?

My first exursion to the book store.

I consider this a travel experience, even though it's only downtown Bay St. Louis..

I loved working there for an hour and a half. It was a great beginning experience, and I can't wait to go back. I love their way for keeping up the store. I don't know what else to say really, except that there's always a nice, quaint feeling when I walk in.

Career Service Learning..

Instead of doing 20 hours of community service, my school does this things called Career Service Learning. Well, the career I chose to spend 20 hours with is this quaint little book store called Bay Books.

I think it's going to be nice working in a book shop helping people find books and stuff. Except I can't get paid. AHH!

:] well that's okay.. It's gonna be great!

Today was great!

Really, we had a bunch of fun at school today. Except I had a headache :[

We went outside to read our books, and then we basically had a bunch of free periods. Hmm, I was thinking about travel journalism ALL day. Haha, yeah so then I came home and read my War and Peace book. I'm about 2/3 done, yayy!

Okay guys, I really want y'all to take my survey on the side bar, it helps a lot. I can only be interesting to you if you let me know something about your interests.. So by taking the quiz, I get to know each and every one of you.. Which is like 4 people or less who actually look at my site, so it's easy to keep up with you guys.

Thanks for everything! ♥

European Trip: Take 1

For my first trip to Europe, since I won't be backpacking, I really need to change my packing list, considering this is for a professional organization. So, I'll have to trade in my backpack for a nice suit and stuff like that. :[[

I think these things are so cool, for any trip though:

So anyways, I can't buy a backpack yet, whatev.. I get to buy clothes for this trip instead.

Well here they are.. I thought I had ones of flowers, but I must have accidentally deleted them from my camera. It's the sunrise at 6:30 am.

Eh, I need to post those pictures!

I can't get to my mom's computer right now! I have some great pictures (I think) of my backyard, a bunch of weeds, but when you think about how great my home could be as a "travel destination", it's makes the pictures not so ordinary. I guess this entry is a prelude then, I promise to have the pictures soon (tomorrow?)..

And happy daylight savings time, everybody! It feels like 11, but it's only 10, wow! Yayy! I like when the sun comes up earlier.. :]]]

Goodbye && I love you guys for keeping me young, hah!

I'm going to Europe!

Okay guys and girls,
So, I went to this People to People local information meeting a while ago, and after my parents finally affirmed, this means that I'm going to Europe next summer! I mean, I can't believe that something this great could happen to me in this point in my life. I'm only halfway through teenager years, and I'm going to another continent. I feel so lucky, and I'm freaking grateful to my parents, to People to People, and to my teacher for nominating me. I don't know if any of you know, but backpacking through Europe has been my dream for quite some time, and this trip will be a MAJOR stepping stone. Wow... That's all I can say really.

By the way, People to People is an organization designed for the youth, so that we can become leaders. I'm gonna try my hardest to attain a certain level of leadership, so that I can prove to be worthy of such an unimaginable thing.

New York when I was five

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We visited New York when I was five. I wish I could actually write something to go with this picture, but the only things I remember were meeting Gregory Hines, shouting "I can see the Statue of Liberty already, very small of course.", and other small memories.. These were the twin towers, obviously, and I wish I could still remember them in real life.

Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I guess I could consider it a travel experience because I went to a cemetery and served as a tour guide for the Historical Society in my town. Lots of local people who died mostly, nothing to report. Anyway, I figured I should write about it anyway.

Thanks!
